Many people store their snowthrower by simply rolling it into the shed at the end of winter. However, performing a few quick maintenance steps can save you from expensive repairs when cold weather returns.

- Drain and replace the engine oil.
- Add about one ounce of fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank.
- Start the engine and let it run for 1 minute to distribute the stabilizer.
- Remove the spark plug and add a small capful of oil into the cylinder.
- Pull the starter cord to evenly coat the cylinder walls.
